[sociallocker]The breadcrumbs are a navigational aid usually in the top left section of a webpage displaying the hierarchy of the current page in relation to the website’s structure.

Why are the breadcrumbs important?

Breadcrumbs help search engines and users understand the structure of your website, resulting in better user experience and improved ranking on search engines.

As you can see in the example on the right from Zalando UK Platform Sandals page, the breadcrumbs give to the user all the information on where the current page is in the website structure. The Platform Sandals page is a sub-category of the Sandals category, which is a sub-category of the Shoes category of the Women section of Zalando UK.[/sociallocker]
